Salary: £13.68 - £14.68 per hour (PAYE)
Hours: 32.5 Hours per week | Monday - Friday (08:30 - 15:30)
Contract: Full-Time, Temporary (Long-term until July 2028)

Our vibrant Blackpool Academy is seeking a dedicated 1:1 SEN Support Assistant to provide long-term care for a charming Year 1 student. This is a rare opportunity to provide vital stability, following his developmental journey through the school until 2028.
The Role: Supporting ASD & Complex Needs
Our student is Autistic, non-verbal, and currently working at an 18-month developmental level. This role requires a nurture-first approach, prioritising emotional well-being and sensory regulation above all else.
Your Key Responsibilities:
Communication & Interaction: Using visuals (PECS), sensory cues, and play-based engagement to communicate at his level.
Nurture-Based Learning: Adapting Year 1 curriculum activities into accessible, sensory-heavy learning aids.
Personal Care: Providing essential personal care with the utmost dignity, patience, and respect.
EHCP Implementation: Working closely with the SENCO to achieve targets within his Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP).

About You (Person Specification)
We are looking for a Special Support Assistant with a big heart and a resilient nature. To be successful, you will need:
Experience in SEND: Previous experience (or a profound interest) in ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder) and complex needs.
A Calming Presence: The ability to remain regulated during sensory meltdowns and find joy in small developmental "wins."
Commitment: A desire to stay with this student long-term to provide the consistency he requires to thrive.
Reliability: Ability to commit to a full-time, 32.5-hour weekly schedule ( 8:30-3:30).
